About: Valerie Burnick

Valerie Burnick
  • Role : Co-founder
    Economics and Social Sciences Teacher
  • Experience : Attracted to the world of finance early in her career, Valerie Burnick was an internal auditor in a multinational firm, where her passion for mathematics found a concrete application in numbers. However, her other passion, the thirst for sharing knowledge, had the upper hand and led her to embrace a teaching career: first in Mathematics and then in Economics and Social Sciences (SES), for twenty years.

With over twenty years of teaching experience - both French and international - Valérie has developed a special interest in the development and use of differentiated teaching methods. In 2013, Valérie participated in the development of the new Economics program for the International Baccalaureate. She is also an active member of the French National Education working group for the implementation of the new Economics and Social Science program in 11th and 12th grade.

In 2014, aware of the positive impact that the acquisition of knowledge and skills in the world of entrepreneurship can have on high school students, Valérie collaborated with Babson College to create an entrepreneurship program for high school students where candidates have the opportunity to develop a business project and present it to a panel of expert investors.

A graduate in Applied Economic Sciences from UCL in Belgium, Valérie obtained her Agrégation of Higher Secondary Education in Economics and Social Sciences in 1993. Valérie also received a certification in International Finance from Northeastern University in 1998.
